Alrite, it has been a while since the last time i blogged, time to make up for that. Now things are heatin up between Streamyx and the P1 Wimax as u all knoe and here's what I got to say about the issue. Streamyx are losin roughly 25K of customer while Wimax are gaining 50k per month according to them. Sounds like peeps really potong and went to Wimax. Why's this happening? Both got pros and cons. P1's capping is really annoying when the ure planning to sub internet for heavy downloads, where you ll find ur speed sucks when you reached the maximum dl allowed. Well not like you cannot use internet at all, but i guees i'd be a good speed matchup with the current 384kbs per secs which is d old lil dialup connection's speed. P1's stability not that good either. So if ure planing to use P1 for online games, p1's not capable of keeping ur line up for a long time, bad news for DoTA players (like me) and other games that needs the internet to be connected all the time, I heard the thing works like TV's antena so u ll hafta turn it to the 'right' direction for it to work so don't and go kick or move the thing if u wan ur connection to live a lil bit longer = ). While P1's owned because of the caping, streamyx had something similar where they call 'fair share policy', what does this mean? Well I couldn't understand too well myself but it's about something like you get what you paid for in a good way. Sure you all have been hearing something like P2P sharing is lagging streamyx's arse and that's a part of it. Supposedly from what I heard p2p downloads speed are considered OK d at around 20kbps when if ure subscribing for 1 mb. (WTF? o.o?) glad we still get our p2p's the same speed as our direct DL 'sometimes'
PS: even peeps say streamyx sucks here and there, most of us still choose streamyx becoz it brings more value compared to wimax. I will be the first to subscribe if there's another ISP pop with the the same or better value streamyx's providing now, cheers = )
